Pastor Dies After 30 Days of Fasting To Beat Jesus Record

September 10, 2019

A South African pastor, Alfred Ndlovu has died of malnutrition after going without food for 30 days when he tried to emulate Jesus Christ and fast for 40 days and 40 nights.
Buzz South Africa reports that the 44-year-old pastor left home on June 17 for a nearby bush to have prayers, just like Jesus did. Attempting to equal or break Jesus Christ record of fasting for 40 days, Mr Alfred Ndlovu died just a month despite having no history of illness. He was alone in the wilderness and his body was found by a stranger who then called the police. He was known by his family and community at large as a very spiritual person whose faith could move mountains and his death surprised everyone, even church members.
One close relative said: ‘He was a very spiritual man. It’s unfortunate he had to die this way. After a month we got the sad news of his death. The pastor was a healthy and religious old man who did not even look his age.

Xenophobia: Eight Policemen Arraigned For Maltreating Nigerians, Says Dabiri-Erewa

September 10, 2019

The recent xenophobic attack on foreigners, particularly Nigerians have continued to generate reactions in the country.

This time, the Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa and a Professor of International Law and Jurisprudence, Professor Akin Oyebode, have both faulted the South African government over the issue.

Both individuals were interviewed as guests on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday.

Giving an update on the development, Dabiri-Erewa, said the South African government has arraigned eight policemen for the maltreatment of Nigerians in the country.

“Eight policemen have been charged to court by South Africa. They have been charged for cases involving the maltreatment of Nigerians in South Africa that have been on for a long time. But the cases have not yet ended.
“We are hoping those cases will end. There have to be consequences for actions. Four policemen have been arrested in connection with the last death of the gentleman that was killed in his home,” she said.

Speaking further, she called on the South African government to conclude the investigation into the harassment and death of Nigerians and also make the findings public.

The presidential aide also wants the immediate end to the killings of Nigerians in South Africa, thereby calling on the President Cyril Ramaphosa administration to exhibit the political will to tackle the scourge.

Reacting also, Oyebode noted that the President Ramaphosa ought to have sent a delegation to apologise to Nigeria having been affected by the killings.

“I believe the Buhari government is trying to be very diplomatic even though we are the aggrieved party. Quite a number of my friends have said that Nigeria should not give the impression that it was begging South Africa for consideration because we are the injured party.

“It is South Africa that ought to send their delegation here to appeal to Nigerians not to visit mayhem on the South Africans of their interests,” he said.

I make good music but lack funds to promote it – Clido

May 30, 2019

Fast-rising hip-hop/r&b/reggae music singer, Ifebunso Kingsley Ndubuisi, a.k.a Clido may not have the financial backing to bankroll his music talent, he is stopping at nothing to bring his passion for music to fruition.

In a chat with E-Daily, while explaining the challenges he has had to battle within pursuing his music career, the 400-level undergraduate of Electrical Engineering, Madonna University said; “For me, it’s not that hard. Music is something that comes to me free so I do quite ok.  It only gets hard when I’m working on a project and the funds are hard to come by but I still make it happen. I’ve got good music, I’ve got the talent. I am the brand but without money for promotion, no one gets to see this talent.” The singer who would soon be dropping a cypher video titled ‘Inferno’, recalled how popular rapper, Jesse Jagz, MI Abaga’s younger brother and Ice Prince inspired his hit song, ‘Bad’.

Mavin record’s Rema sounds like Wizkid – fans “My inspiration was Jesse Jagz, after I listened to his song, ‘Redemption’. I wanted to do something with a reggae vibe, but I wanted it to be hip hop too. His style and the way he flows is impressive. I was also listening to Ice Prince at that time; so it was like a combination of Jesse Jagz and Ice Prince”, he said. He added that for him, Jesse Jagz is a better rapper than his elder brother, MI. “I would say Jesse Jagz is a better rap artiste than his brother, MI Abaga.

I refer to Jagz as a spiritual rapper most times. M.I is a really good rapper but I feel a spiritual connection whenever I’m listening to Jesse Jagz. Although M.I has a more successful career but I always listen to Jesse Jagz more. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big fan of M.I too, but when it comes to rap music I’ll always pick Jagz over Mr Incredible.”
